Brisfest

I have done a six month internship with an organisation called Bristol Festival Community Group who organise festivals across Bristol.

Whilst working for BFCG I have assisted in social media campaigns for their events. One of which was Rave on Avon. I was in charge of carrying out the social media campaign for this event on their Instagram page. As the lead up to the event I would do regular posts on the artists playing at the event  and collating images for the posts. I was also in charge of increasing their followers. And from my time there I was able to increase their followers by over 4,000. In addition to promote the event and give their target audience a taster of the  event I created playlist on Soundcloud, Spotify and Youtube of all the artists that were performing at Rave on Avon. On the day of the event I was taking photos and posting them to their social media accounts.

Another event that I worked on with them was their flagship Brisfest event. My tasks were similar to the Rave on Avon event such as creating social media posts about the artists and promoting the event and creating playlists of all the artists performing. I also made posters for their social media competiton, as well  as creating and promoting their Snapchat geo filter which was available on the day of the event. At the event  I was also taking photos and posting them onto their social media accounts and providing updates of the things things that were happening at the event e.g. when an artist was due to perform or when they had finished performing and venue information.

Other work that I did whilst working for the organisation was organise all their media files. This involved renaming and changing all their files and folders. Coming up with a naming system of all of their videos and photos, which made things easier when posting things onto social media. From my experience working with BFCG I learned a lot about social media management and analytics and target audience analysis.
