HOPE FOUNTAIN INTL: Projects
Hope Fountain International are a charity that help orphaned children in Zimbabwe and other parts of Africa. They provide support through the empowerment of education. They assist the children with school fees, uniforms, travel costs and other individual needs. I have been working for them since July 2014. My role with them started off as an admin assistant. Through this role I was able to gain my first experience working in an office and doing administration tasks such as filing, writing and responding to emails and making phone calls.
After a few months my role transitioned into social media assistant position. I started off helping them manage their Facebook page by giving them ideas on how to engage with their audience online as well as writing a few posts for them. When I first started working with them I realised they didn't have much of an online presence apart from their website and Facebook, therefore I decided to create an Instagram page for them and helped them gain 400 followers in just over a month. I have also created a YouTube page for them as I thought it would be a great way for them to spread their message through different social media platforms.
Other works that I have done with them have included editing videos for their YouTube account and for their presentations at conferences and events, taking minutes for them at meetings, and coming up with campaign strategies. In addition I have helped out at their events and conferences and have taken photography for them at those events.

Working wih Hope Fountain ha helped me to gain new skills and maintain video editing skills that I learned whilst at University.
