Penny Brohn UK

Since November 2016 I have been working as a Marketing Volunteer for a charity called Penny Brohn UK. They are a charity that help people who have been diagnosed with cancer live well and have a healthy life.

My duties as a marketing assistant mostly include creating and posting content for their social media accounts. Writing and posting content on their website. I also assist them with coming up with social media campaigns for their fundraising events.

One of the social media campaigns that I have assisted them with was their Christmas Online Advent Calendar. To view the calendar click here. I was responsible for writing the content on the calendar, selecting and editing the images, and creating social media posts for each day of the calendar. I enjoyed working on this project as I was able to learn how to use Weebly, which I had never used before. I was also able to utilize my Photoshop skills to edit the photos.

Other projects that I have done with them have included their World Cancer Day 2017 campaign. I took photos of and created a gif for the #WeCanICan be active campaign. I have also created boards on Pinterest and taken photographs for their page. In addition I am also working on campaigns for their future projects such as their annual corporate fundraising event Bungee the Boss and their Spring Open Day event.

Working with Penny Brohn has enabled me to improve my skills and knowledge in InDesign and Wordpress. I have learnt about SEO and other social media management tools such as Buffer.
